01 · Why specialized

Why Magento needs specialized hosting

Magento is one of the most powerful e-commerce platforms — and one of the most demanding. A generic VM with a LAMP stack is not Magento hosting. The infrastructure underneath has to know how Magento behaves: Varnish with a Magento-aware VCL for full-page cache, Percona tuned for the catalogue and order query patterns, OpenSearch with Magento indexes pre-configured, Redis split into separate session and application instances, and RabbitMQ for async indexing on large catalogues. That is the difference between a server that runs Magento and infrastructure that holds Magento up at peak traffic.

Performance

Hardware and stack tuned to Magento's read/write patterns. Page loads stay fast even when traffic spikes.

Security

OS hardening, Magento patches, WAF and backups — applied on a schedule, not when something breaks.

Stability

Monitoring, alerting and SLAs. Issues are caught before customers notice them.

AWS High Availability

When you need more than a single server

For projects with extreme traffic or zero-downtime requirements: a clustered, multi-AZ Magento deployment on AWS, fully managed.

Discuss HA setup
  • Multi-AZ failover

Replicas across availability zones. One AZ outage and traffic keeps flowing.

  • Auto-scaling

Web and worker tiers scale to traffic. Pay for what you actually use at peak.

  • Dedicated architecture

Cluster designed around your stack — DB, cache, search, queues all sized to your volume.

  • Priority support

Direct line into the team that built and runs the cluster.

Included

What every plan includes

No matter which tier — these activities are the foundation of a secure, stable, professionally maintained Magento.

  • 01 Regular server security updates
Operating system, services, and software components are updated on a regular cadence. Known vulnerabilities are removed, hardening levels stay current, and the platform stays a step ahead of opportunistic attacks.
  • 02 Critical Magento patches
Magento publishes security patches and functional fixes regularly. We install critical patches as they ship, keeping your store protected from publicly known exploits.
  • 03 Magento-aware backup
A VM snapshot is not a Magento backup. We dump the database before snapshotting the filesystem (the order matters), exclude `var/` and `generated/` (Magento rebuilds them), keep `media/` on incremental sync, store environment config encrypted, and run a restore on a staging box weekly to prove the backup actually works. In a failure, restore is minutes, not hours.
  • 04 External storage for backups (Enterprise / HA)
On Enterprise and HA setups backups also land on isolated external storage — protection against ransomware, hardware loss, or physical damage to the primary data centre.
  • 05 Global CDN for static assets
Images, CSS, JS and product media are served from a global edge network. Page loads stay fast for visitors regardless of where they are; origin bandwidth and CPU stay free for the dynamic catalogue and checkout paths.
  • 06 WAF, DDoS, and bot protection
A web application firewall blocks the OWASP top-10 attack patterns and DDoS attempts at the edge before they touch the server. Enterprise/HA adds custom rule sets, advanced bot filtering, and detailed traffic analytics.
  • 07 Active monitoring (Enterprise / HA)
Server and Magento are watched in real time — CPU, memory, DB performance, network and service availability. External HTTP probes verify the site responds and key elements render.
  • 08 Magento-aware monitoring + support
Generic hosting watches CPU, RAM and disk. We also probe the Magento application layer: checkout flow (POST /checkout/onepage/saveOrder/), search response time, admin route health, RabbitMQ queue depth, Varnish HIT rate, and indexer state. When the server looks healthy but the store is silently broken, we see it before you do. Critical alerts get a 24/7 response; non-critical tickets get a one-business-day response on CORE, faster on higher tiers. Our team speaks Serbian and English from CET hours.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The answers we give most often. Anything else — drop us a line.

  • Do you migrate from an existing host?
Yes — migration is included for every plan. We coordinate a maintenance window, replicate data, and switch DNS so the cutover stays under a few minutes for most stores.
  • Which data centre / region do you use?
EU Tier III/IV data centres — Frankfurt, Helsinki, and Nuremberg are the default options, with additional EU regions and AWS EU as alternatives when the project calls for it. All locations are GDPR-compliant. We pick the region per project based on where your customers are; for SR/ex-YU stores Frankfurt typically wins on latency. If you expect to grow into high availability later, starting on AWS keeps the upgrade path to a multi-AZ cluster within the same provider — no migration required.
  • Are SSL and CDN included on every plan?
SSL is included on every plan (Let's Encrypt or your own certificate). CDN is included on GROWTH and above; CORE can add it as a paid extra.
  • What is not included?
Custom Magento development, third-party extension fixes, and email hosting are not part of managed hosting. We can recommend partners or scope these as separate engagements.
  • How is billing structured (monthly / annual / contract)?
Monthly invoicing by default. Annual prepay receives a discount; long-term contracts (12+ months) unlock locked-in pricing.
  • What does the SLA cover and how is downtime calculated?
Each tier targets a published uptime (Essential / Advanced / Premium). Downtime is measured by external HTTP probes; SLA breaches return service credits per the contract.
  • Can I move between plans (upgrade/downgrade)?
Yes. Upgrades are typically same-day; downgrades are scheduled at the next billing cycle.
  • What does the security layer cover?
Free SSL (Let's Encrypt or your own certificate), web application firewall (WAF) with managed rule sets and bot/brute-force protection, monitored Magento patch installation, OS hardening, and a dedicated alert path when a critical vulnerability is published. DDoS mitigation runs at the edge (CDN layer).
  • Do you support Hyvä themes (and PWA storefronts)?
Yes — strongly. We work with Hyvä storefronts day-to-day: Hyvä Compiler integrated into the build pipeline, Tailwind purge configured against Hyvä module surfaces, Hyvä Checkout caching tuned (it differs meaningfully from Luma checkout), and full module-ecosystem compatibility across our infrastructure. Luma, Hyvä, and headless / PWA all run on the same stack — no extra charge.
  • Is there a trial period or a money-back guarantee?
Billing is monthly with no minimum contract — you can cancel any time and the server is decommissioned at the end of the paid period. We don't run a free-trial program because every account gets dedicated hardware sized to your store on day one; ask us about a paid 30-day pilot if you want a structured evaluation.
  • Is migration really free, and how long does it take?
Yes — migration is included in every plan, run by our engineers, not handed back to you as a checklist. Most stores complete the cutover in under an hour with a planned maintenance window of a few minutes; complex multi-store or multi-region setups take longer and we scope them up front.
  • We already have managed hosting. Why switch?
If your current host can't tell you which Varnish VCL is running on your server, whether Redis session storage is separated from application cache, or how to diagnose a Magento checkout timeout under load — you have a generalist server, not Magento hosting. That works until it doesn't. The usual reason stores move to us is post-incident: a Black Friday slowdown, a Magento upgrade that broke something the previous host couldn't debug, or repeat tickets that get bounced between sysadmin and developer because nobody owns the Magento application layer.
  • How do we know you understand Magento, not just the Linux server?
Our team works with Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce day-to-day: we track Magento Security Patches from the day they ship, we know the difference between Hyvä and Luma cache invalidation, we understand Adobe Commerce B2B module architecture, and we deploy Magento stores regularly. You can ask us what `Magento\Framework\App\Cache\Type\Block` does and get an answer from the engineer on the call — not a ticket that gets handed to a sysadmin who has to Google it.
